A tower 7 meter-high in the middle of the city, that uses ion technology to produce smog-free air, allowing people to breathe clean air for free. Is it fiction? No, that is the Smog Free Project, realized by the Dutch designer Daan Roosegaarde and his team of experts.
The project, tested and realized in Rotterdam, proved highly successful in China, where air pollution is a severe problem from decades. But how does the Smog free Tower work? The Smog Free Tower, equipped with environment-friendly and patented ozon free ion technology, cleans 30.000m³ per hour without ozon, runs on green wind energy and uses no more electricity than a waterboiler (1170 watts). But there’s more; Daan Roosegaarde created a line of jewelry - Smog Free Rings, Smog Free Cubes and Smog Free Cufflinks - using the compressed smog particles.
