On the island of Hjarno, in Denmark, an amateur archeologist discovers a 1500-year-old treasure. The jewels, 32 pieces, including gold pendants and brooches, real pearls, and small pieces of gold were used at the time as money.
The treasure had been buried in the muddy lands of the tiny island, probably for a votive offering. The burial took place in the Viking Era, but there are also traces of the Roman empire, confirming that the two great civilizations had contacts. The jewels are currently being examined, especially some decorations never seen before. Once analyzed, they will be exhibited at the Museum of Cultural History of the city of Vejle, but then in all probability will be moved to the National Museum of Denmark, in Copenhagen.
